La Touche Guilmet - Travel information
Situated close to the ever-expanding A28 La Touche Guilmet is conveniently placed for easy access from the ports of Caen-Ouistreham and Le Havre. The new stretches of the A28 mean that the journey time from Caen Ouistreham is under 2 hours.
The final stretches of the A28 will open in 2010 reducing travel time by another 10 minutes or so.
The property is accessed along a private lane. There is ample parking for several cars.
By Car
From the ports of Le Havre & Caen Ouistreham (100 miles 1 hr 50 mins) take the signs to Alencon & Le Mans. The fastest routes being on the toll roads (have 8 euros ready) - A88 and then A28.
From the A28 take the exit signed for Fresnay Sur Sarthe, but at the village of La Hutte turn left along the D338 to Beaumont Sur Sarthe where you will turn right at the second set of traffic lights along the D5 towards Sille Le Guillaume and our village of Segris.
In Segris at the first cross roads opposite the charcutterie turn left up the hill (school now on your right). After 500m turn right, at the sign La Touche Guilmet, along the private lane. Our cottage is the first one on the right hand side.
By Train
TGV from Paris Montparnasse to Le Mans and then local service to Alencon.
Car hire is available in Le Mans.
